The Wandering Inn

I... am fan. The Wandering Inn is a LitRPG, an epic web serial well beyond 10M+ words, and a little over half way finished by pirateaba. It started in 2016 and I think I've been following it since a couple of months since it started.

It's a series that either people love or hate. One of those rare works where fans would calmly ask you to take the first volume a little light and that it takes a while to get going.

Being a gamer and game developer most of my life, role playing games, fantasy, isekai are all very familiar and TWI is a master of world building. Much more than being a perfect work I've seen it evolve from it's rough early days into a work with masterful chapters that move you. Add to that the author has a problem, and writes like there is no tomorrow. They are taking better care of themselves now and pacing themselves (of what we know), but there were times of 30-50k word chapters every few days, and months of 70-100k words a week being published.

I appreciate it for it's scale, depth, growth, community and consistency.

We twice came very close to starting work on making games on the series, but it didn't work out then. Perhaps someday.

Here is some work Vineeth Haridasan did over the years, some when at QYJO, some at petrol.social.

Here are some LLM descriptions for the series that I agree with -
